This is the breakfast I really love. Light but full of nutrition. It's a Thai breakfast set from Proud Phu Fah, a hip and green resort in Chiangmai. This breakfast set has a simple combination of boiled rice, omelet, vegetable, and fish. This set comes with refilled orange juice and tea or coffee. The stir fried vegetable is Chayote, which is a local vegetable that you can find almost all year round in the north. It's very fresh and sweet up here. You have to try it yourself when you visit the north of Thailand. Just simply ask for stir fried Chayote with oyster source. Yum!!
These wooden creatures are nice decoration on a big lawn. They are a signature here.
The resort has private villas, and bathtub and/or jacuzzi rooms in the building. However, the private villa like the type we stayed is cheaper. I think because the shower is open air and is separated from the bedroom, and everything in there, including the walkway, is quite wet in the rainy season. I guess in the winter also might not be an ideal to walk to the separate toilet at nighttime.
This is our bedroom in a private villa. We chose a villa without an air con. Every door has mosquito screen. At night even we closed all doors, it was still quite cold.
This is a balcony in front of the bedroom. Next to the balcony is a stream and is surrounded by greenery. The stream sounds like a waterfall in the rainy season.
This beautiful pool area is next to the restaurant. It looks so welcoming.
This is a coffee shop and restaurant in the resort. The internet was fast in the morning, but very slow after midday. Our room had WIFI, but the internet was so slow. We chose to spend time at the restaurant to chill and work. The kitchen opened from 7am till 8pm.
We spent 2 nights here and we worked on our laptops most of the time. I edited photos and finished 90% of my website. I wish I could have an office like this. The coffee shop "Smooth Angel" has coffee that is really smooth like its name. Also don't forget to try their homemade ice-cream. In the picture above is green tea ice-cream.
Proud Phu Fah is a resort for people who love privacy and romantic atmosphere. If you have to come in the rainy season, I don't recommend private villas if you don't like separate wet shower room and walkway. However, if you don't mind that, you'd save lots of money. Most travelling people don't spend much time in the room anyway. The restaurant area is perfect to sit and chill. Having light and healthy food with the view of the mountain and greenery can really boost up your energy before going back to the city.
