I visited Mon Cham on my holiday in Chiangmai. "Mon" is a northern word for a small hill. I tried herbal tea and lemon cheese cake. The herbal tea has 5 types of plants. I'm not sure what they are, but I got strong Mint taste. The boy who served the tea told us 3 times to wait for 3 to 5 minutes before drinking. Of course we had to believe him. They say it can cure the common cold. The lemon cheese cake here is delicious. They also have Scones which is quite amazing to have it on the uphill place like this. Herbal tea and lemon cheese cake are really great combination in the weather and the scenery like in Mon Cham.
This spot is so popular for all tourists and tourism magazines. I'm sure it's as beautiful as in the winter.
Infinity view of Mon Cham
Old trucks from the Royal Project that are transformed to be big pots for plants. It's such an artistic way of the local wisdom.
This is an interesting toy from hill tribe people. There are one-seated and two-seated types. To ride it, a truck will take you up hill with the cart you choose, then you roll it down hill. I didn't try because I was scared and not sure about the brake.
A herd of cows on the way back from Mon Cham. Lovely.
Mon Cham is a place you can come to visit all year round. It has nice weather and scenery. The food and bakery shop is there for you all year. There are a lot more people in the winter and there's the tent area for tourists. I visited Mon Cham in May, which is a rainy season. It's not bad at all and I strongly recommend you to come and visit Mon Cham to experience the peaceful scenery of the north. And don't forget to try herbal tea with lemon cheese cake.
